what is the best way to become a poker dealer? do casinos train you on the job or do i take the classes?

i live fairly close to a casino. is it difficult to land one of these jobs? thanks in advance.

Davido 		To answer your question, the best way to become a poker dealer is to hit up a casino.

I worked at a smaller casino on the Allegheny reservation in NY, and everyone that got hired went through weeks of paid training. I'm sure you can take classes somewhere, but that usually costs more bucks than what a normal person would want to spend.

I´m surprised, what a question.
I would say joining some pro's and asking them to show from the very beginning.
But, why would you want to become a gambler ??

Why not try helping pepole instaed of cheating them up ?

armenece 		I have NOOOOOOOOOOOOO IDEA what that one person said whom responded to your question (RE: 'cheating them up')?

Anyways, i am a LV local. Your best bet is to go to dealers school. Yes, they have classes that teach MORE than just BJ.

Otherwise, if you're in a smaller city, you may want to ask if the local casino / tribe / etc has a training class available.
