Read some books about it or look at online articles and ebooks. Practice with some freinds or family members.

Play tight and aggressive:
1) Play less hands out of position and more hands in position.
2) You should play about 10-15% of hands in early positions and 25-30% hands in late position (I mean the best % of hands)
3) Don't min-raise. Don't limp pre flop. Ever.
4) Make your raise sizes about the same, no matter what cards you have (It disguises your hand). Bet/raise about 3-4x the bb preflop and 2/3 pot post flop
5) When you have a hand bet it. Don't slow play. Bet bet bet. This is where you get your money. Don't be dissapointed when they fold. You'll get them next time and you'll make them pay big.
6) Don't be afraid to "bluff" with overcards.
7) Don't chase weak draws (Gutshots).
8) Observe what is going on in the table. If a hand goes to showdown, try to remember what everyone did in each street and use that knowledge against them.

Only a few tips, but maybe it'll help.

The best thing you can do is play as much as you can. There is no substitute for experience. Since you see so many more hands in online poker that is a great way to learn and much quicker. Still, becoming a good poker player is going to take you a long time regardless how much you read or study, just be patient and play as much as you can and always be trying to improve your game.
Here are some poker articles that will help you along your way:

In short, play tighter and more aggressive. Only play good hands and don't get frustrated because you're not winning and start playing poor hands. Don't get bored and start playing poor hands. ONLY play good hands. When you do play a hand, always raise pre-flop 3-4x (ie if blinds are 25/50, raise to 150-200). Never just call pre-flop (remember, be the aggressor). Once on the flop, you'll likely just want to bet every time (atleast at small stakes where no one will notice). ALWAYS bet atleast half the pot. If the pot is 500, don't put out some retarded 100 bet. Bet 300-500 and be consistent with this. On the turn and river, you have to make some more complicated decisions. At low stakes, you can play pretty straightforward, just bet your good hands (strongly) and give up your weak hands.

Again, this is all just a very robotic style to beat the very small stakes. To get better, you must read, read, read. Analyze your own game. Get a coach. Read twoplutwo.com forums. Post hands and get feedback. Play 20+ hours a week. Profit. Over time, things will begin to click.
