Why can't I play in freeroll tournaments on Pokerstars anymore?

I have played for the last 2 years & now today all of a sudden it tells me I can't register in the tourny because of online gaming laws in my area won't let me play in real $ games?...I usually play freerolls to win tickets into tournaments that will pay...I live in California...What has changed in the laws to make this so?

ger2000 		Unfortunately Pokerstars is no longer allowing US players to play for real money (which includes freerolls with prizes) after the US authorities targeted them last Friday.

However, you can still play for real money on Bodog, Merge Gaming network, Cake Poker network, Everleaf network and Yatahay network.

Davidov 		They wouldn't be able to pay you your money easily as they are being prosecuted by the FBI. I think the link below will work.
