Which poker variant demands more skill and less chance?

I'm not looking for some obscure poker that no one plays. I'm looking for a skill-demanding poker that can be played online or in casinos.

I have played a lot of stud, NLHE, PLO in my lifetime but I would have to say that the most skillful game is actually LHE. LHE forces you to make decisions every street and make very thin value bets in order to be profitable. The edge between good and poor players in my opinion is much smaller than say NL. Unlike in NL where the money can go in at any time, in limit you have to re-establish your opponents range every street since his flat of your bet really doesnt narrow range down like in NL.

Check out some old vids from Bryce Paradis playing LHE. His hand analysis is very impressive and commentary really show that there is a deep understanding of the game required to beat the game.

Limit Hold em poker is the more demanding variant and will require skill, analysis, and mathematical prowess.. whats best about it is that it is very calculable, meaning you can calculate odds, percentages, profit, etc.

If you're looking for the ultimate test of skill, try HORSE. It is a rotation of Texas Holdem, Omaha Hi/lo, Razz, Seven Card Stud, and Seven Card Stud hi/lo. Most professionals consider the HORSE tournament the most difficult at the WSOP, and the top performers to be the most skilled poker players in the world.

Although all poker games need skill a experience, but texas hold'em poker tops the list of poker games, as it requires a great skill of reading others mind. And the player must know when he has to call, fold or raise as per accordance to the card pairs in his hands.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt No-Limit Texas Hold 'em is the poker game that requires the most skill to be successful. If you are looking for games to play online or at the casino than I suggest playing no-limit hold 'em as it is by far the most popular and you can always find a no-limit game going. All forms of poker require skill but in no-limit with one wrong move you can lose everything - this can't be said for many other types of poker. That's why no-limit texas hold 'em is referred to as the cadillac of poker games.

I'd say Omaha hi/low - the same amount of information is available to players as in hold'em, but with twice the hole cards, the limitations on how many can be used and the possibility of both low and high hands, the permutations are vastly increased.

7 Card Stud is probably the most skillful game. There is a lot of luck involved in any poker game but 7 Card Stud requires a lot of skill. Also try the Hi-lo variant. Professional players also like no-limit 2-7 draw, but it has a lot of luck but it requires large amount of skill to read your opponents correctly when played in a live setting.

The more information that is provided, the more skill is necessary.

That makes Texas Hold 'em one of the best games for skill. 5 out of the 7 cards are exposed.

Another good one is 5 card stud. 4 out of the 5 cards are exposed.

Limit hold 'em, in my opinion, demands more skill than any other poker variant, although not by much. Because the betting is always fixed, it becomes more of a mathematical game at times.

There is a great innovative website that has numerous tips on Poker and a vast pick of free bonus codes. You can have up to about $600 free with them. I have learnt a lot from that place and I am winning quite a lot of money on a yearly basis.
