What is the best way to build up a 100 bankroll for online poker - cash games, SNGs or MTTs?

if you want to perhaps turn 100 to 1000 through solid TAG poker, which is the best route to build your BR. do most online pros just play cash games? can playing sngs do it to? i'm thinking MTTs would need a higher BR....

I started with absolutely nothing on PokerStars, trying to build a bankroll like Chris Ferguson did at FT. I won a buck in a freeroll, used it to win another buck in a ring game, and 6 months later I'm up to about $50, and I've done it primarily through single table S'n'G's. The reasoning is simple: 30% of the players get paid. A single table SNG has 9 players, 3 of which will make the money. MTT's rarely pay more than 20%. Ring games can be faster, but there's more variance built into those games. A bad run of hands on a SNG will only cost you the buyin, while a bad run on a ring game can cost you up to 5% of your total BR! Assuming you're practicing good bankroll management, of course. A lot of it comes down to what kind of games you're best at. Are you a grinder? Then play limit hold'em ring games. Final table wizard? Play the single table SNG's. But stay away from the big tournaments if you're looking to steadily build. I've played almost exculsively $1.00 + 0.20 SNG's, and it's worked well for me. I would also tend to steer away from NL cash games, as the swings can get huge. But if that's what you're good at, by all means sit at those tables. Good luck.

if you play a tag style, low limit cash games have the least variance.
with a 100 bankroll, you would need to play $10 NL or ..10/.20 limit to start with and work your way up
SNGs and MTTs have much higher variance

I wouldn't really consider MTT's. Even great players will have ridiculously long dry streaks in large tournaments, so if you're looking for a relatively steady income, it's not a great place to start.

Between ring games and SNGs, it's really up to the player. Different players have different strengths, and some suit one format over the other. A typical professional gambler will steer towards ring games, but there are certainly plenty of people making decent money at nothing but SNGs.

FYI, I started with basically nothing at one of the major poker sites (I was on it playing play money games to see if I liked it and they deposited $5 into my real money account) and built up a significant bankroll (a LOT more than $1,000) playing almost exclusively 18 player SNGs. This was mainly because $5 is not enough to even sit at a $.01/.02 ring game, but it's 4 buy-ins at $1 SNGs, and once I got going I just stuck with what worked.

if you wanna play poker for free use the above site... they give you 50$ for passing a quiz!
and they ask nothting in return exept that you dont create multiple accounts... and the test is fairly easy,,, only 20 items..
once you passed the test they send the money to your website/pokerplatform in just 48 hours!!!
They can send it to you at Pokerstars, mansion poker, titan poker, party poker among others... or you could sign up with them and deposit your own money and use their bonus code!

first, find a game where you are consistently successful, like $1, 9 player sng's. When you get up to $10, play a $1, 45 player sng's (max payout here is 14:1, vs 4:1). TAG is best playing in non-turbos, where a 9 player sng usually takes 90 minutes and a 45 player takes 3 hours.

After you get to $13, make $10 your bankroll, and gamble once on a $3 game, either 9 player or 45. Rinse and repeat until you cash in a $3 game.

Once your bankroll is 30-40, you can take a bigger risk with say a $4/180 or a few $1 turbos. if you lose, go back to step 1.

Also, you can mix in a few cheap tournaments, but the time/return is just too great. sometimes, you will play 4 hours for $2, which is just not worth it to me.

you should also keep doing this until your bankroll is 200, not 100. then, you can try a $30/9 player or a $4-12/180 for some serious money.
