Managing on-line poker bankroll?

I'm interested in how other players manage their online-poker bankrolls. I play SNGs and my method is that I wont play a table until I have 15 times the buyin in my account. For example I deposited $50 in January and only played $5/.50 until I had a $165 balance then moved to $10/1. I am currently playing $50/5 as I have about $900 in my account. If I go below the 15x mark I will move to lower buyin. Does this seem reasonable and what method do you use?

jonbrown 		it's okay ... i think technically you are supposed to have 25 buyins but 15 is okay ...

remember variance is huge especiialy in sitngos ... so with less than 25 buyins you can go broke ... but if you are a solid player you will likely be okay

cameron 		I'm something of a sissy about my bankroll. I play the 5+0.50 single table sng's, and if I win or place second then I'll move up to a 10+1 single table sng for my next game. When I have $102 in my account I cash out $50 ($2 goes to ePassporte). I end up cashing out about once a week, and haven't had to deposit anything since my initial $50. I play at FullTilt. So my method is to keep my bankroll as close to my original buyin as possible. That leaves me knowing I'll have money to play with, and the somewhat steady income keeps my wife off my back. Not to mention which I'm never tempted to blow 50 bucks on a tournament and get creamed. Your method sounds better for someone interested in winning real money and climbing up the ladder. I like my method for the type of player I am: a moderately skilled ameteur.

celt71 		The choice of your stack depend on your bankroll. But keep in mind that you want around 400x the bb for bankroll. For example if you play the $1/2, you need $800 for bankroll. When you buy-in in a cash games, you buy-in with 50x the BB. So for the same example that mean $100. Keep 15% of your bankroll for tournaments, to take a shot. For sit&go, you should be able to choose them by the amount of S&G buy-in. Example, with $800, that mean you should have at least 25 times the buy-in. So $30 buy-in is correct. One other thing. You might want to keep another 5 to 10% of your bankroll for the "inexperience" part. For example you are a Holdem player, but you want take a shot at the 7 stud table.
