In poker odds, how does the precentage of 40 equate to 6 to 4 odds?

Davidov 		6:4 should mean you are favorite and not 40%. That means if you have the same hand against the other hand 10 times, you should win 6 times. It really mean your odd is 60% to win.

I think you mean 4:6 which then it mean 40%.

montie 		Actually with all due respect to the last poster, 6:4 means that the chances of losing are 6 and the chances of winning are 4, not the other way around. For instance if it were a 2:1 bet this means you get 2 for every 1 you bet if you win. Those familiar with horse racing for instance will remember that the odds are expressed as 10:1, 20:1, etc and the bigger the number the bigger the long shot. So 6 to 4 is correct.
