In five card draw poker, what do you do if two players have matching hands?

If the second round ends and Bob and Joe both have, for example, 7-9-j-k-a, or any other matching hands, what do you do? How is the victor decided?

Suits are irrelevant. There is no "better" suit. Don't spread misinformation.

It's called a "push" or a split pot. As you said, you both have the same hand - the pot is split in half, with any odd chip (it happens) being bumped to the [winning] player to the left of the dealer.
