How can I get staked into a WSOP event?

Like Steve Danneman who split his earnings with a friend who staked his entry fee. I have no friends with that kind of cash.

cameron 		beat the best and be seen doing it. Win your own w.s.o.p. bracelet first. I would stake myself before i would any one else. IF you are worthy then it is worth staking yourself first.. LIFE IS RISKY risk your own bank roll first show you can beat the best of the best and then hope and wait... Or just stake yourself.... I would stake me if i felt strongly i would have a great chance to win

twocox 		Your best bet is to play an online satellite and win your seat. Consider too that some events cost as little as $1,500 to enter. If you play a WSOP circuit event the buy in can be as little as $300.

If you are just expecting some random rich guy to give you the money to play, you are probably SOL. Even the best players in the world often fail to cash in a single event. So why should they give money to you?

fullhouse 		Well you have to be good enough to impress someone who would stake you. The cheapest way is to play an online satelite event but to win a seat into the main event you will have to win a $50 buy in tournament that would have 200 other players in it. Not easy.

twocox 		Forget the idea of been staked. You have one year to get ready. Playing satellites (live and online) that's your best shoot. PERIOD.

fullhouse 		Do you have nine poker playing buddies and ten weeks?

Everybody put in $110 each week. The top three each week receive points. 10 points for first, 5 points for second, 2 points for third. At the end of ten weeks, the winner goes to the WSOP main event ($10,000), including $1,000 for travel expenses such as airfare and hotel.

If there are any winnings, then the person playing gets 55% of the winnings and each of the other 9 players gets 5% each. Now you have some people rooting for you.

cameron 		First of all Steve put up 5k of his own money and his friend gave the other half of the fee. But the odds that you will get stacked in a big buy in event is very small. I would say that you should try and find a small super satellite to play in, these can be as cheap as 100-300 dollars and they give as many seats as they can to the winners. So if the prize pool is 60k then they would give away 6 seats into the main event. They also have 1k satellites as well you can enter at the w.s.o.p. I have been playing on the side for many years and i have yet to play in the main event because i know what my limit is, and i know what kind of stacks i can enter into.
