Am I ready to play in a live Poker tournament now?

I've been playing Pokemon online for the past year and a half, and I was wondering if I would be ready to play in a live Poker tournament now.

Thanks for the input in advance!
Sorry, I meant to say Poker lol.

depends if you EV train, and how well you are doing online. You might also want to IV breed if you are thinking about entering a tournament. It also depends who you are playing online. I say go for it if you EV train and IV breed, what do you have to lose?

I've got some bad and disturbing news for you. You could play Pokemon for the next 50 years and Peekachu and all his buddies will not help you at all with getting ready to play a poker tournament.

Sorry, man. I know the truth hurts.

I've always wanted to join a poker tournament but feel I'm not yet ready for it. What I do now is practice a lot. Have you practiced enough to get you to win at the poker tournament?

If you think Pokemon is somehow related to poker, please let me know where you plan to play so I can be there as well.

Join a poker forum & read books, or become a fish (losing player)
playing poker is fun but like anything you cant just expect to be good, lots of time & effort must be put in to learn how to be successful, its not by chance the same players repeatedly make the final tables, if you just play poker all you will do is repeat the same mistakes over & over without knowing what you are doing wrong, put some time into learning the game it will pay you in dollars. be lazy & just play, well you will soon be broke,

Good luck
Papa :)

Only way to truly know is to go out and try it. However, your gonna have to realize that there are some differences to playing live compared to online. Controlling habits is a big one, if you really want to play live I'd reccommend picking up "read em' and reap" by Joe Navarro

Chances are, yes...just realize that there are subtle differences: live play is slower, picking up (and exposing) tells via body language is a distinct possibility and (overall) you probably won't encounter as many all-in donks.

(BTW, I concur regarding "Read 'em and Reap" - even tho Phil Helmuth is listed as a co-author, the vast majority of the book is by Navarro, who is a retired FBI agent and an expert in reading body language.)
